Today Google told us exactly how we can get them to put more of our web pages into their index:

Improved indexing of your pages: We've recently improved our indexing technology so that you can provide a more enhanced Site Search experience for your users. AdSense for search will now index even more pages of your site, as long as we’re able to crawl them, so that your users will see more results from your site in your AdSense for search results. Stay tuned for more updates on future crawl and indexing improvements!

I'm a bit of a geek for watching affiliate sites and blogs get indexed in google so i thought that was great news.

Now they say exactly how to get more pages into their index: Use adsense for search on your blog or site.

Test, Test, Test: As with anything test and see if the change works for your situation.

There aren't many days when Google gives you advice that good ;)

Who is you favorite domain registrar and why?

Mine is godaddy.

1. They have cheap prices. I can almost always google for "godaddy coupons" and get my .com's for $6.95

2. Customer Service 24/7. Even if I call at midnight on Saturday they will answer the phone.

3. Tools. It's brain dead simple to manage my domains there plus I've never lacked for a feature, they do domain forwarding to total dns control.

Is there any reason not to use Godaddy? I don't do anything shady or gray area so I'm not worried about getting on their bad side.

Today's video rambles a bit. Basically I wanted to show off my small veggie garden and chat about a few goals. Maybe get a conversation started, maybe not.

I think it would be cool to grow a large portion of the food you consume. I planted a small vegetable garden to start learning.

I think it would be even cooler to own a few acres of land, and grow your food garden on that.

That would be the ultimate "lifestyle" to me. Relaxing but still able to afford to travel occasionally.

Currently I'm not there but would like to be.

Goals Beyond 45n5

45n5=50. $50 per day was my initial goal here and reason for the blog as I chronicled some of my adventures. I haven't set any new goal here but wondering if maybe the new goal will be choosing a lifestyle and then working towards it here? Maybe not.

Either way I'm not into expensive sports cars or giant homes.

That's Ok If You Are

If you like fancy cars that ok, I don't want to offend anyone. But I'm curious:

1. Does anyone else have similar goals as I mentioned?

2. Does anyone blog about these types of goals personally or know of others?

3. What are your goals? Certainly it's more than just looking at numbers on a check.

Now let's get crazy:

The Digital Community Farm

I was a bit disappointed in today's video because it was pretty low key and rambling however I'm glad now because it has helped spark some thinking for me. Here's something that might be cool:

In the video I talk about chronicling earning enough to buy a farm. Maybe doing some novelty stuff like the "rent my chest" or "million dollar homepage" etc. to raise funds.

As I was uploading the video I thought of this:

Raise the money to buy some land and a house from donations and advertising on the internet, BUT also allow visitors on the land ALWAYS and for FREE.

Maybe have a few small cabins where people could stay up to a week for free. Food would be free also. They would just have to keep it clean an help do some gardening.

A bit different, yes, but might be cool, especially if people duplicated the process around the country/world.

I'm not sure what would qualify someone to stay at your place, obviously you don't want people running from the law visiting, so I imagine there would be some application process that filters only honest people that are interested also creating a digital/green lifestyle.

Anywhoo, that's the thoughts for today. Yours?

Did you know some of your blog visitors could be your enemy and they have weapons that could hurt you if you with google if you aren't playing by the google rules rules?

Lately when I've been reading forums and someone complains about something that is shady or in the gray area about another site one of the usual answers is "just go report them to google!"

And sure enough it's easy to report a site to google for doing things from selling text links to having their meta description being misleading to bunches of other things.

Here are two weapons your competitors and blog visitors have:

1. Google Report Paid Links Tool

2. Google Report a Spam Result

These forms are getting used OFTEN!

But I Don't Spam

That's fine, just a heads up that even if you maybe did paid links once upon a time and didn't remove that page, or if you have something that isn't up to speed on your site you might be reported.

Kill Your Competitor

Of course if you see someone ranking higher than one of your sites and implements paid links or paid reviews or misleading or keyword stuffed copy then you can use the forms to your advantage also.

Know Your Enemy

I can't believe how many people still blatantly advertise paid links and other nonsense on their blogs.

I also thought it was interesting how many bloggers don't know those 2 forms exist.

Thinking of 10 ways to get traffic to your website or blog and here's what I came up with first, some are more popular and respected than others:

Pay for it search engines - Google, Yahoo, and those have tons of traffic they will sell you.

Pay for it other websites - Buy banners and links (with nofollow) from websites that already have the eyeballs you want.

Get traffic from links (linkbait) - Write content that people like to link to. People follow the links to your site.

Get traffic from social networks (twitter, facebook) - Be sure to tell your friends when you create new content and they will show up.

Get traffic from parasite seo (ezine articles, squidoo) Put quality articles on sites like these and they will rank high in search engines and put a link back to your site in the article footer sending you the traffic.

Get traffic from SEO Write your butt off about topics that people want to know about but there aren't many search results about yet. New products and news come out everyday and the competition starts at 0 for these every day.

Get traffic from offline promotion Business cards, stickers, tshirts, etc.

Get traffic from email Put your website url in your signature, do something creative with it to get more clicks. Email people about interesting content you create and tell them they should look at it cause they might like it.

Get traffic from Video (youtube, yahoo video, etc) Put your url in your description and watermark your videos with your url.

Podcast marketing - Many people have podcasts about your topic with very large audiences. Get people with podcasts to talk about you.

Your turn; What are more tips to get traffic?
