So, you want to earn $600 per month from the internet, or enough to pay your rent? The following is one business plan to get there. Please comment with your own business plan or share it with the world on your own blog.I never had any game plan to make the first $600 per month and still probably don't have a gameplan to make the next $600 or $6000, however we all have opinions, so here is mine on a Basic Business Plan To Make Six Hundred Dollars Profit Per Month Via The Internet.
Summary: Build 3 blogs that earn $206.09 per month, or just over $600 per month.
Costs: Less than $10 per month (3 domains X $8 = $24 plus $7 per month hosting = $73 dollars per year total expenses, or $6.09 per month)
Rules, Rules, Rules:
a. You can never change the url structure of you blog after you make your first post. Never, no redirects, nothing.b. You may not install any additional plugins after your first blog post is made. You must finish with what you start with. (possible exception for spam plugins)
c. You may never change the layout of any blog
d. You write the majority of your posts on things people buy
How To (make the blogs):
1. Don't go niche, pick a competitive topic to write about and make it broad.
You can "go niche" in each of your categories.
To determine if the idea is competitive, please visit text link ads and look for the categories with the most sold text links. Then visit sponsored reviews and pay per post and make sure there are plenty of high paying review options for your blog.
It helps if you are interested in the topic but not necessary. If your will to pay your rent with the internet is greater than your will to have fun on the internet you will do fine (most people's will is greater to have fun)
Examples might be a "shopping tips blog" or "shopping guru blog" or "healthy geek blog" or "wedding diva blog", keep it to a topic but broad enough to spread the largest net for catching advertisers.
2. Update each blog every day.
3. Find who the bloggers are in the niche and don't just link to them but write about them, do a review of them, interview them, give them a fake award from your site, link out religiously to them, anything to get them to link to you.
4. Once a week make a really long "linkable" post (top 50 this, or greatest pictures in, reprinting related email forwards is good, etc.) and email some similar bloggers about it, also make sure to bookmark it in all the social sites.
5. Always read your log files and write more about the subjects people are searching for when they find your blog. Also remember to use as many different modifiers with those keywords in you new text (and in new paragraphs on old text if you want to beef up your winners). Maybe even misspell a the word here or there. (keyword is winning? try used keyword, old keyword, keyword troubleshooting, discount keyword, keywerd, etc)
How To (Monetization)
Prerequisite - Install the alexa toolbar for your browser.Post Pagerank Monetization With Our Goals
(Monetizing before your blog has pagerank is up to you but you can't really get earning until you have some pagerank and alexa rank)
kontera - no way, i personally think twice about linking to sites that use advertising like this, you need the links
$60 per month: adsense - max out your link units (horizontal link units take up hardly 0 space). tastefully place an adblock in your content. ($20 per month per blog)
$240 per month:text link ads - sign up and put them horizontally above the fold. we want to sell 8 per site at $20 or $10 profit each ($80 per blog per month)
$180 per month Paid Reviews - We want to sell 3 per site at $20 profit per review (you figure out what to charge after the commission).
$15 per month Chitika - put a small unit horizontal unit in your footer. $5 per blog per month.
$120 Affiliate - Use amazon.com/cj.com/shareasale.com/etc links any and everytime you use a product name. $40 per blog per month. Also use the space after your post to display relevant affiliate offers.
All together now
adsense: $60
tla: $240
paid reviews: $180
chitika: $15
affiliate: $120
Total:$615
We beat our monthly goal by $8.51 per month. This business plan takes approximately 12 months to complete from day one until finish. This ain't no get rich quick thing. Your time may vary, but expect 12 months following this regimen for the average person.(note to your mamma - nothing earth shattering here, I'm simply restating the bits and pieces you probably see lying around everywhere else)
So how realistic is my business plan for earning $600 per month? What would you change about it? Do you have your own ideas that are nothing like this one?
I'll tell you one thing though, it's better than anybody else's business plan to make money online you've seen today (if not, please share the link ;-)

Hey -
Nice. Post. Man.
A lot of great ideas. This is one of those things that I might want a hard copy of - I might have to print it out.
You're right - I've heard all of these things, but you just put the puzzle together for me.
Gracias.

Great motivational post Mark. I'd just like too ask and add. How many posts per month do you think is best and how long should the posts be?
And I'd like to add that although this is a great plan it takes a lot of motivation to keep posting, especially in the early months when you will see no return.

Well, I'm about to try this out, but I have few questions though, about two rules.
Why can't you install any additional plugins after your first blog post is made and why should you may never change the layout of any blog? Or are these rules just for fun?
PS. Thanks for this post man, I really appreciate it.

Hey 45,
Your plan is realistic over a 12 month period but seems to entail a ridiculously large commitment for a measly $600 a month.
3 short posts a day AND one resource post a week over 3 blogs is getting beyond the scope of a part time fling...
By adding certain aspects like article syndication, building review pages, capturing emails, etc... one could make a lot more a lot faster.

I am very curious about the no new plugins thing.
The not changing your permalink structure I totally get. The layout thing I sort of get. But the plugins thing I don't get at all.
At least not for people just doing their first blog. Getting all your plugins right before you even get out the gate is very, very hard to do.
And if you join a new membership after your blog has already began, I think it is hard to fathom that you wouldn't add a mybloglog widget and see how or if it affects your traffic.
I would love to have you explain this more since I have broken this rule many times. I am fascinated to understand the reasoning here!

thanks patrick, just subbed your blog
@textadsearch - one post per day, enough text to wrap around an adsense ad block with some healthy left overs
@alex - yes I forgot about the building a list, excellent advice. Also 12 months was just ball park, certainly people could do it quicker, I wanted to keep expectations realistic
@Income Hero - your welcome, the link in mindy's response is for you also
@mindy - a post for you and income hero's question

Hi Mark,
This is a really good post. A nice, simple plan that most anyone with the desire could put into action.
I've often wondered at the necessity of having more than one blog and seeing your idea laid out this way has provided the insight I needed to do so.
Just one question - should each blog be a different topic, should they all be the same topic or should they each be different but related topics?
Thanks again,
Annie

"Just one question - should each blog be a different topic, should they all be the same topic or should they each be different but related topics?"
certainly not the same but "related" might work. a wedding blog and a womens health blog might be good. the only problem is if they are too close together you will want to post the same article on both sites then. Each news item or new article can only go on one site.
Annie Anderson says on August 5, 2007
That makes perfect sense and is what I was leaning towards; different but related.
Thanks, Mark! ;-)
Rubikon says on August 6, 2007
Nice plan, but isnt 600 too small amount? Why not 9 blogs and $1800? :) And second thought: I dont think you need post everyday, but 3x per week. Plugins - agree. Changing layout - disagree, sometimes you can make things work better later. Permalinks - agree.
45n5 says on August 6, 2007
thanks for the comment annie and rubikon. 9 blogs seems a bit unrealistic for a newbie to manage, I thought 3 would be stretching a bit.
Sapphire says on August 6, 2007
This sounds realistic to me. I have reprint blogs (and how easy is that to update?) that make $50-80 a month from TLA alone. If you can do that with dupe content and TLA only, $200+ for original content and more monetization sources sounds very doable.
45n5 says on August 6, 2007
@sapphire - that is genius. thanks for the info.

im going to be doing this. theoreticall, it sounds like it will work. but one thing i want to know, will they accept m blog even though its new? i want to make more than 600 a month from this but i will start with this plan first and when it works, i will just scale it up.
thanks for the plan, i reall like our blog and if i can get some stuff ironed out (technical stuff im clueless on) i will be implementing all these things you got going on here. thanks again and i luv coming to this site. keep up the great job our doing

Planning.... Most people wished things would magically fall in to place - but without a plan there's no direction.

Sounds simple but you would have to have alot of time to put into it. Good blueprint though.

Hey Mark,
great article there. One of the very best on your whole blog, next to some of your hilarious video's.
And I must say this really works, though if you're in for the bigger money you might want to prospect advertisers without using those sites mentioned. 'Standalone' advertisers pay a lot more.
Plus you can integrate affiliate marketing, by browsing Clickbank and recommending a product or two using your own affiliate link. Do this just once or twice a month to keep the focus on content, not advertising.
BTW - Thanks for including me in your Top 100 list! And the link to James Brausch needs to be updated. He's now located at the .org version of his domain.
