I would think it's a no brainer that you should be posting regularly regardless of what's going on on a calendar, however by the lack of activity in my feed reader on weekends and holidays, most bloggers don't agree.
It would be great if more people posted regularly or most days of the week.
There are benefits to off peak posting like you get more attention of people that are still reading blogs on weekends and holidays.
In my opinion these are the best people to have reading your blog. They are the more dedicated people.
You also have the advantage of having fresh content for Monday morning or the day after the holiday for the usual readers to browse when the get back online.
If you really think it's against your ethics to post on these days, simply do a scheduled post to display on these days.
The internet runs 7 days a week, I'm not sure why so many people don't post on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays, but I think they should and wish they would ;)

I only post 2 to 3 days per week due to the fact of maintaining several websites and off line businesses. There is no rule about how often to blog. Just have fun and try not to make it work.

I do sometimes; I was going to try for every day for the first month or so of my new blog but I've been sick and to be honest Im go thru 1 of those phases of "this is all a waste of time and just loosing me money not making it". I will snap out of it eventually but its a bit difficult to post when you're not up beat

I will be posting all holidays. Cause I also noticed how noone seems to post on these days, so it's a great opportunity to pick up some new readers :D

I don't work on the weekends any longer but I do make posts in advance and timestamp them if I want to put up a post or two on the weekend.
If the weather is crappy and I'm home and can't work outside I work in my home office on that weekend. I don't have a real schedule.

I post whenever I gosh darn feel like it.
I was a little surprised that none of the top 50 MMO blogs I follow had a post about memorial day. I wonder if we get so focused on our blog we sometimes forget the outside world.
Hey, were is the video from--you're just up I-75 from me. I live at the TN border.

thanks @all for the comments ;)
@aaron - I'm in georgetown, ky, hopefully moving to some land in the next year
I don't think most people posted about memorial day because most people don't celebrate memorial day and also because these aren't political blogs.

@lissie
I feel your pain---...and I hope you are feeling better.
I am sure most of us have that kind of feeling too--is it worth it, is it wasting time?
My attitude is: as long as I having fun and stay out of trouble, I am fine.
Lissie--- my recommendation is do not have only one website, create other websites with other interests.
Lissie--- just hang on and things will be better.
Take care.

Yeah, enjoy the holidays. Days off are good for you, when you come back you're usually more productive. Mark, when you're out with your wife enjoying some time off, leave the business at home, be there 100%. I'm actually surprised when I see people out with their families doing something and they're Twittering or still doing business in some way. While this business is 24/7, I actually like that affiliate managers take the weekends off for the most part. You could use that time to catch up on things, take time off and relax, etc. I wouldn't do weekend blogs either, I think sometimes people spread themselves too thin on topics. But to each his own, on that one.

I try and post as often as I can. Amazingly enough I got a post out this weekend, but then skipped monday...
People are definitely online over the weekend. I setup a few ad campaigns and they did very well, especially for it being a 3 day weekend... I was a bit surprised.

I think that for most people it is just easier to not post on the weekend when you might not be at home or in your normal routine. It's easier to create and stick to a schedule if you only post during the week when you will be in the midst of a regular routine.
I generally try to post twice per day seven days a week, but it doesn't always happen.

I noticed there was a huge drop in traffic on weekends so I figured it was a good time for me to spend with my family and now that it is summer (almost) we do a lot of stuff outside when the weather is nice.
I do see your point though :)

@lissie - no problem , hope things are getting better for you

If it feels like a chore and something you SHOULD do, then - in my opinion - don' post on weekends. Take at least one day off. However, if you feel like posting something and find yourself having fun with it, then why not go ahead and get it up there? Obviously, as long as the quality remains good, the more often you post the better.
