Update The Bumpzee owner says he will correct this. Bumpzee is cool, but the concept is still worth being aware of, as not all webmasters are like Scott from bumpzee.

I reckon this is why including your blog posts in a feed agregator community, that also allows your headlines to be indexed, isn't a good idea (notice who ranks #1 for the article I wrote 2 days ago? It ain't me):

bumpzee

I make 0 dollars and 0 cents from this website so it isn't a great concern. However I had previously recommended this type of thing to the readers here, and that's why I mention the potential downfall of adding your feed to community aggregators.

I live and I learn. Scott, please add no index to my bumpzee entries or remove my blog from the community. Thanks.

(btw, My original thread (agloco is stupid) is on page 3 of the results when I wrote this)

Unintended effect, Mark. There are all sorts of links to you on that page as well, so arguably it flows to you anyway.

I'll noindex, nofollow those pages. I have no problem with that.

Unfortunately other webmasters aren't as forgiving, or easy to get a hold of, as you are. That's why I made the correction for my readers, to be careful. Your quick response will probably assure them that bumpzee is safe and accommodating ;-)

Thanks Scott.

I've added noindex, nofollow added to your entries. It's configurable per blog.

I changed only yours for now, as a stop-gap, since you asked and will be evaluating what to do with the rest. I'm not gunning for rank, so it really makes no difference to me. Others might like the link-pop.

I've also removed the snippets (which you can control yourself already).

Thanks scott, I think vlad was interested also.

It should probably be more obvious to someone signing up, just as a tip.

Actually now I am still be staying with "follow". It may become concern later on, but now since my blog is still "unkown" to 99.99% of people in industry I am fine with BumpZee ranking better on my own posts. But the new addition is great if people want to optout and implement "nofollow".

I think getting your ideas/views out there are more important than having your particular blog brand show up as #1 in some cases.

I'd rather be an agent of change than an agent of greed.

But that's just me.

Thanks for the comment Vlad.

Sam,

"I'd rather be an agent of change than an agent of greed."

Your "Noncommercial" license on your blog contradicts that.

I agree - I prefer saturation over keeping all of the pageviews on my server.

Thanks for stopping by Shawn. I pose the same question to you that I did to Sam, because your blog has the same copyright restrictions as Sam..

Why the "noncommercial" license on your blog?

I take it as "I prefer saturation over keeping all of the pageviews on my server.".......UNLESS somebody is going to make money from it, then I prefer to keep the pageviews on my server.

Or do I misunderstand the noncommercial license?

I agree with Shawn -- will keep the "Follow" for now. I love what Scott has created. Also, his responses here show that he is great to do business with. Wish others were like him. Keep it up, Scott!

Thanks for stopping by Gene.

"I love what Scott has created. Also, his responses here show that he is great to do business with. Wish others were like him.

I'll second that.
