So, is it Easier to make one site that makes $3000 per month or 100 sites that make $30 per month?
What would you recommend a newbie go for?
What are you shooting for?
I try for both however I think building 100 sites that make $30 per month is much easier to do. If you can find 100 subjects that you are interested in, or split 20 subjects into 5 sites each, you might have the best journey possible.
When I mention building sites like seo didn't exist I'm obviously talking about trying to build a site to make $3000 per month. However if google drops a $30 per month site, nobody cares.
WWZJ do? Zac just made the impressive post How I Made $860,538.38 PROFIT in 4 Months! The most impressive thing about the post, for me, is the video, lol. (more video please, everybody!) I'm curious what the super affiliates would recommend for a newbie? 1 site or 100 sites?
I'm also curious what you think? I'm sure the answer might be in the middle, but let's assume you had to pick one method to get to $3000 per month, would you choose to do it using 1 site or 100?
My vote is for 100 ;)

I think it's easier to go with 100 websites...However with 100 websites you are waling on the edge of what you spoke about in the spam video:
http://www.45n5.com/permalink/web-spamming-101.html
It's easier to make money with 100 websites. It's hard to make 100 quality websites.

@vlad - of course if you create 100 sites on a saturday afternoon it will get spammy ;) lol, for sure.
I reckon I should have mentioned, let's assume you spend the same amount of time on both projects ;)

I would rather build 1 site that makes $3000 per month instead of building 100 sites. I would also rather manage 1 site instead of 100.

Hey Mark, you've got mail.

Definitely 100. If you put all your eggs in one basket you could be in for a hurting if Google decided for whatever reason to punish you.
You lose 30 bucks no big deal...you lose 3k then it's a mega big deal.

100 sites... setting up that many sites definitely doesn't just happen overnight. How about 10 at $300? That sounds much more manageable and if one takes off then you can focus on that for the big $3000 payday.

In any pursuit in life diversification is an important thing. If possible, it is best to combine the two efforts. Build one high earning site, and also build a bunch of lower earning sites Be the king on one topic, and be a player on other topics.

Well I made this strategic choice like 6 months ago. I realized how freakin hard it was to get that one single site making thousands of dollars a month. But creating a site and getting it to $20-$30 a month is a piece of cake (lol, not really but easier). So my strategy since then has been to shoot for 100 sites at an average of $20 a month.
The other benefit of this many sites is that you'll find a few start to take off. At this point - you can put a little extra effort into those and start getting a few sites into the next teir of earnings.
As you know, managing this many sites is not an easy task. And you definitely need writers for most of them. Anyways, my strategy and vote goes to 100 sites over 1 :)

Probably easier to make 100 sites. But there is little love there. It is not so sustainable. I thinking the boring but more realistic approach is taking the middle ground.

Mark and all others on this thread,
I think that there is a lot of merit in creating many sites that make $30 a month. The diversification aspects are very appealing. Make that first $3,000/month and then focus on bigger projects.
With that being said, many of you, including you Mark, have said that it is relatively easy to create 100 sites that make $30 per month.
Would you please provide your tips for creating a site that makes $30 per month?

Mark,
I agree with you. It is smarter to build 100 sites making $30.00 a month rather than one site making $3000.00 a month. I personally can't focus on one site or topic. I have many different interest that I would like to make sites for. Trends change and Google changes. So if I bank on one site making my months salary, that is too risky.
It is kind of like mutual funds, you should diversify. You don't want to sink all of your money on one stock.
I read Dennis Becker's Earn 5 Bucks A Day e-book and it really opened my eyes. He talks about making 100 sites that make $5.00 a day.
Dennis also has a paid forum called Earn 1K A Day. There is a wealth of information in the forum and all of the members are so nice. The members don't talk around how they earned money, they tell you exactly how.
See you in Vegas,
Debby

I think it's really important not to rely on one site for all your income. At the moment I probably have about 10 live sites and some do really well and others do quite the opposite.
The reason for the poorer sites I think is down to me wanting to cover too much. If you're going to have lots of sites then you can't have sites likes "Everything Made Of Wood" or "Every Plastic Cup", you're going to need to get down and nichey and focus on "short wooden spoons" and "blue plastic cups" if these aren't sites you're happy to update each day..
Now I just need to practise what I preach!

How about 10 sites @300 a month? either way never do one site alone. Always good to have multiple streams of income. Remember diversify your porfolio.
Paid Surveys says on February 19, 2008
Diversification is always necessary, both in your niches and your income streams. If you're going to go the route of 100 sites making $30 a month you'll definitely need some way to automate that because there's no way to keep up with managing that many sites manually. I like the idea of 10 sites making $300 a month better. It's well diversified and while it may not be easy to achieve it's still much easier than 1 site making $3000 a month.
Rui says on February 19, 2008
The Thing is...if you wanna go for 10 sites doing $300 you will need to do a lot more than just "build it in a couple of hours" and forget about it...
...while the 10 sites x $300 idea needs maintenance!
Marketassociate.com says on February 19, 2008
My school of thought is to create one $3000 dollar site per year and create 50 to 60 mini sites that make $1 to $5 dollars per day in that same year also. At $2 dollars per day for 50 sites that is $100 dollars per day. A $3000 site usually will take a year to two to get off the ground. So, until that $3000 kicks in make a whole bunch of smaller sites to tide you over.
Richard Callaby says on February 19, 2008
mark,
I agree that creating many sites that make a little each is "easier" then creating a site that makes 3000 per month instead. However with that being said I do not see many people in those "niche" websites actually focusing on their long term strategy. For instance if you focus on a niche what is your strategy for monetizing that niche. How do you plan on leveraging these websites in the future to get you more loyal customers? Think long term and not just slapping up some sites because they fit some keywords that you think might be profitable. Create a plan and then execute that plan and you should have more long term success. Just my two cents.
Thanks,
Richard
