Here's something cool I'd like to get: Google Advertising Certification.
the Google Advertising Professionals program can help you become a more successful ad manager – for free.
A few websites I visit have the badge that they are an adwords certified pro but i hadn't given it two thoughts until today. Then I thought, "hey, that's a cool certification that i'd like to study for!" So i am.
Google Adwords Certification Requirements
You need to complete the adwords test, taken through a third party that costs $50.
You also need to Build and maintain at least US$1,000 (or your local currency equivalent) total spend during the 90-day period that you take the exam.
The Adwords Learning Center
This is worth your visit today if you haven't seen it: Adwords Learning Center.
They have text and video tutorials on using adwords. The first video or two are real boring but then they jump right into showing how you can be in spot 2 paying more than someone in spot 1. Interesting stuff.
Why Get Adwords Certified?
Different strokes for different folks of course. For me it's a good reason to study the adwords manual ;)
If you do consulting or manage accounts for other's it could also be a good badge to show off.
Are You Google Adwords Certified?
If you already got your certification, any tips? Anyone else thinking of going for it at this time?
I'm officially in the hunt. If you are also be sure to register and setup your MCC account. That's also where you get a "pro" tab that tracks your spend towards certification.

Keep us updated on the progress. I want to know in six months if acquiring certification is a plus for your websites or just free advertisements for google.

This is something I'd like to get as well. But once you've met the spend requirements the certification might not matter as much as the money you'd be making. Good Luck!

I'll definitely check it out since I am still learning PPC with Adwords. As for the verbal pauses... Steve Pavlina has some info he wrote 3 years ago:

I have a question. I have studying the Google Adwords Learning Center Tutorial and I'm grateful for it.
How can I learn this without having to personally invest the $1000 dollars to build up my adspend on my own personal website? It sounds like I need to build a site, build up my personal adspend to $1000 dollars for 90 days, and within in that time frame, spend $50 dollars to take the test, through a 3rd party. Is this right? Or is their another way to learn this? (Get certified.)
