Sticking with the theme of affiliate products here is an idea to pick one: Go shopping.
By going shopping you find great products that you want to buy, that you can get excited about, you can find the good merchants and bad ones, your site will be WAY better if you can actually show of pictures/video of the actual product, in some places it can be a tax write off, and overall it's just a FUN way to pick products to promote.
Now the next time you go to your affiliate account and your eyes start glazing over at all the offers, set yourself a budget, and see what you would buy, then buy it, then build really great affiliate content ;)

The tax write-off is a great point. For instance, why do you think John Chow writes up all those restaurant reviews? I'll just about guarantee he's using the fact that the experience is now content for his 'publishing business', and is writing them off! ;)And like you said, knowing the product sure makes it a lot easier to create content. I'm pretty comfortable making my own sushi, so creating a little content for my HomegrownSushi.com site was a piece of cake. On the other hand, I know next to nothing on underwater photography, and the lack of content on my NikonosCameras.com reveals that. Which do you think performs better?

Mark, I love your video a day idea. Short, sweet, to the point and yet fun and creative. I first discovered your site when you were criticizing the 30 day challenge info. I thought that was a fun read, and I've been subscribed ever since. Lately you've been getting really creative, and I like the focus on the affiliate niches. Very helpful stuff. Thanks.
