I mentioned in
Buy an Expiring Domain I was in an auction for an expired domain. Well I won, here's how it went down.
After SnapNames grabbed the domain the bidders starting bidding in increments of $5. This went on randomly for an hour until I was the high bidder.
I waited THREE whole days for somebody to outbid me. Even today with an hour left in the auction I thought surely one of the other 18 people would bid again, but they didn't.
Here's something I wish I would have done different, so maybe it will help you:
Pick a tough sounding bidder name.
Seriously, I picked a very goofy name not thinking twice about it and every time I would see it as the top bid I really wished I had picked a bidder name like "deep pockets", "made of money", or "Iwilloubidu".
I'm sure the bidder name intimidation couldn't hurt anyway.

Thanks Dave!
... LOL. My instinct would be to pick a "pansy" name ;)
Way to go on the domain name win!
