Mechanical Turk allows you to assign simple tasks that people do better than computers and pay pennies for the people to do it.

Paying people .02 cents to click on your adsense ads or affiliate links is prohibited, however many people are paying for things you might be interested in and doing it for cheap.

When I last visited someone was paying .01 cent for people to digg their url:

I encourage you to go look at some of the Mechanical Turk projects that are open now, they might give you some ideas.

Currently there are people paying only .15 for people to post in their forum, $1 for blog posts, .02 to comment on their blogs, people paying pennies for people to rewrite or paraphrase content and more.

I'm not encouraging you to pay .02 to get someone to comment on your blog, however I thought it was a cool service to know about and that many people like you are already using.

For instance, someone with a deals forum was paying people .15 per forum post if they made unique post with a deal or coupon.

Check it out ;) Mechanical Turk

I dont think I like the concept really. Paying people to digg or stumble your posts pretty much defeats the object of digg and SU. If this becomes commonplace people just wont use these types of social media websites.

@tom - I don't endorse buying diggs, but I wouldn't mind paying someone a few cents to pull the make and model from datafeed product descriptions all day long.

I was just giving some examples that would relate what the mechanical turk could do that were easy to understand ;)

Very interesting. Still not sure how well this will work out. I setup a test campaign just to see what type of results you can expect. Thanks for the find!

I've only used MTurk once so far but it was a success. I was launching a new niche site and had 50 PLR articles on my topic. I didn't have the time to upload them all into wordpress right away. I paid someone $10 on MTurk to format, categorize, upload, and publish them.

The one thing I wish I would have done differently would have been to have them set the date/time so they would have been published one a day over 50 days instead of all at once.

Very nice post Mark, like you I have at least 15 things I could use this for.

Content Spooling Network uses this service to write and rewrite your articles. It costs you there $5.25 per article (260-280 words) and about $3 for each rewrite. They actually come up with very decent articles.

It does give some simple assignments, such as posting comments on blogs with the following words: Alex Dombroff

That pays 25 cents... so the assignments can be fun and easy as well.
