It seems like people used to talk about making websites "sticky" and then blogs rolled along and it got dropped. So today we are bringing sticky back.
What is a sticky website?
A sticky website is one people stick to. Instead of reading your content then bouncing to another site, you give them things that make them stick to your site.
Tools to make people stick to your site
- Create good content that updates often
- Create a classifieds section
- Create a resource, tip, quote, anything "of the day"
- Create top100 list for your niche
- Aggregate other blog (examples: Office Zealots, Moneylinks)
- Create a calender for your topic
- Pick a short memorable domain name
- Make your navigation intuitive and easy to access
- Create a chat room
- Subscribe to comments, allow people to get email updates for you comments
Bringing Sticky Back
I certainly need to bring sticky back to my sites. Any other resources that keep the people coming back to your site?
