superaffilaite.jpgAfter reading the The Super Affiliate's Guide to PPC Marketing I felt motivated to give PPC a spin in December. I've run a couple short and random campaigns in the past but that's about all.

Step One

of the Super Affiliate Guide is to sign up with NeverBlueAds so I'm now applied. I'm waiting on a phone call that I expect to receive in the tomorrow, hopefully.

I plan on doing 100% paid search so I'm not sure why they required me to list a website but they did so I listed 45n5.com.

Step Two

is to sign up with an adwords account. I already have an adwords account so this step is complete.

Budget

My budget for December is $600 or roughly $20 per day.

I don't expect to get rich with this small budget but I think it's a fair amount for me or any regular guy/gal to experiment with.

The guide doesn't mention starting budgets or how long to test before declaring a campaign a failure so these are two questions I will need answered.

Moving Forward

The next step is choosing a program to try with neverblueads so hopefully they call me tomorrow.

I probably won't be detailing the programs or keywords I choose but I will be showing off my profit loss spreadsheet once I get it together and the techniques I use. For better or for worse ;)

I know there are MANY of you that are interested in paid search but haven't done well testing the waters so have fun following along or join me in my PPC adventures in December.

Opinions, tips, tricks, and posts on your own blog are always welcome ;)

Mark,

NeverBlueAds has great customer service. I worked with them for a bit. At the time I didn't know anything about affiliate marketing, but they were very easy to contact and quick to answer any questions I had. I think you'll like working with them.

I'll be watching your experiment closely. I have some PPC ideas I have wanted to try out, but it's never quite made it to the top of my to-do list.

You know how that goes. =)

I'm looking forward to seeing your results. I've never been able to do much with PPC. Seems I always lose even though I have bought all the so-called definitive guides. It's nice to find a free resource. Maybe I will follow along with this and see where it goes.

@trent - go for it ;) Ryan from knupnet.com is going to be doing almost the exact thing in december also ;) more the merrier.

Thanks for the posting and link. I'm really looking forward to your success with PPC. My best advice is don't let PPC overwhelm and discourage you. In most cases YOU WILL FAIL and LOSE MONEY several times before you find a profitable campaign. It sucks, but it's how it goes. I must have tried 25 different offers now and TWO really killed and made up for my crap camapaigns SEVERAL times over. Once you find a profitable campaign, you will monetize it more and more, your margins will increase, then you move on the the next offer. Repeat process...

I've just registered with NeverblueAds a couple of days. They've got some good offers. At least they've got better offers than COPEAC in my opinion.

I'm putting the finishing touches to phpKeywordTracker which I plan to use on my PPC campaigns with NeverblueAds.

Let me know if you'd like to test the beta version!

agreed - it is all a trial and error thing with ppc, well from my experiences anyways - so far I have some good tactics, and more profitable with other ppc than others

nice - neverblueads is pretty well I just started using them myself and within 3 day work frame I saw my first 26$ - not bad! looking forward for the update

You are entering a brave new world my friend. One which will consume you every waking moment if you let it! My biggest tip would be to not start out on Adwords but with Yahoo or MSN. They are a little more forgiving of the inevitable rookie mistakes. Just take it slow, watch your campaigns carefully and you'll do fine.

@zac - you make it sound pretty scary for a newbie in your comment....

@Stephane thanks for the offer about your php script but I'm not sure what I'd use it for or whether I'll need it though, Il'l keep it in mind ;)

@sir jorge - i hope so ..

@Iantrepreneur - cool, look forward to getting inside

@chad - thanks for the words of wisdom

It's not scary so much, but if you are going to dive into it with big expectations... it can go either way. I was killing on a campaign last week, then the offer went dead... try something similar with the same type of offer and I lost $60 in an hour or so of testing. I'm just saying be careful and it definitely takes work. (set your daily ad limits too!)
