Having never bought an expired domain before I'd only heard about expired traffic.

This morning the day after purchasing an expired domain I logged into check the stats for yesterday and noticed about a half dozen "page not found" urls show up in the log file.

Sweet, that is free, or expired traffic that showed up via existing links still in forums, etc, scattered about the web.

Related: I made a tool to take the expiring domains list and find Yahoo backlinks for each comain. If I can just get the Yahoo Explorer API to quit timing out and saying "limit exceeded" after only 150 queries every single day I think it will be interesting.
